BACK TO YOU

How do we travel through time altogether?
»back to you« is situated along a lighthouse in a doubted time. Inspired by retrofuturism, it explores organic mechanisms, machinery and poetic addressed to time as a living being.
By embarking on a journey through time, shifting and passing through past and future tenses, we experience possible ways of dealing with time and express ourselves in close proximity to it as an ever-operating motor. We become aware of its nature, act with it, or turn against it.
In a live chorus, the dancers imitate past, present, and future technologies, enacting a process in which they explore the space between a cliff and a shore.
This multifaceted horizon of shifts, cracks, and instability underscores the human desire to control and understand time. „back to you“ works with continuous loops, and layers of time, highlighting how, in a constantly changing world, we try to make sense through chaos, and come together towards familiarity, to find light in the midst.

"Tension is the defining element of this dance evening:
It thrives on the tension that arises from the interplay of
bodies and their interaction with light, sound, and space."
